Julia Ma

Counsellor & Health Improvement Practitioner

Kia ora, I’m Julia – a registered social worker who provides practical and compassionate support through life’s challenges. My practice is strength-based and trauma-informed, blending practical tools (such as ACT, CBT, MI and solution-focused strategies) with deep listening and care. Fluent in English and Mandarin, I bring a bicultural lens to my work. Having lived between two cultures myself, I understand the silent pressures, family expectations, and identity questions that can arise across different life stages and backgrounds. Outside of work, I’m a mum of two, a podcast enthusiast, and someone who finds joy in movement, connection, and creating space for others to breathe and reset.

Education & Qualification:Master of Applied Social Work and 10 years’ experience in mental health, addiction (AOD), community services, and primary care, I support clients with anxiety, depression, stress, parenting challenges, cultural identity, grief, and major life transitions.
